Tips for using CoosJobs.net
*Give thought to your introductions: This is where you are introducing yourself to a potential employer. This is best treated as a cover letter highlighting your skills and background; and not your personal history.
*Choose your e-mail/username wisely: Use something simple and professional, usually some variant of your name is best. Avoid the use of nicknames. For example: John Doe should not use SexyJdawg or jrocks420, he should try something more like john.doe or jdoe1980.
*Double check your spelling: This is very important in any area of your resume/applications, in both online and hardcopy submissions. Your resume is your first introduction to most employers, and you want it to show what a great addition you will be to their company.
*Give Details! When you are describing your current or prior employment, make sure you give details about your duties.
*Don't Ignore Volunteer Positions! Don't immediately disregard a position because it is a volunteer position. Volunteering can give you great experience & references. It is also a great way to get your feet in the door, or find out that you have a passion for a certain field.

Interview Tips
*Dress for Success! Your "around the house" sweat pants and pizza stained t-shirts are not going to get you the job. Jobseekers should always dress professionally, whether you are picking up/dropping off an application or going to the interview. Don't wear heavy scents that will be distracting, or smell like cigarettes. Do be yourself! You don't have to stick to boring grays and blacks; recruiters want to know what you're really like.
*Do your homework! Go online to the company's website (if available) and read everything that you can. Recruiters are looking for potential employees that are proactive.
*Ask Questions! Try to go to the interview with at least 5 questions about the company. If you are drawing a blank on what to ask, do some online searching and see if the company has had any recent news or developments.
*Make an impression after you interview! Mail off a small thank you note. Don't use anything generic; use specific details of the interview and how you thought it went. Keep the note short; it shouldn't take any more than 1 1/2 minutes for your interviewer to read. Proof read! Check your spelling or even have someone else proof it for you.
