Tips for using CoosJobs.net for your Help Wanted postings

*Job Listing Title: Remember that this is the title of a help wanted ad, not necessarily the position's actual title. Job-hunting can be intimidating enough, you don't want to scare away qualified applicants. This is a chance to use it as a marketing tool to try and attract applicants to further research the description and requirements of the job.

*Be Descriptive!: The advantage of online job posting is that you have unlimited space to describe the job duties, requirements and benefits of working for your company. Taking advantage of this can help lead to not only more resumes; but a higher number of them being qualified applicants.

*Acronyms: Many of us, when placing help wanted advertisements, have gotten used to using acronyms (Like DOE, EOE, NEG, AR/AP, GL), due to limits of space. We forget that many jobseekers may not always know or remember what they mean. Again this is a chance to take advantage of the limitless space to describe the position, sometimes spelling it out can be a huge help in gaining applicants. This especially applies to entry-level positions.

Additional Resources

*Oregon Employment Department: State/Local resource for additional job postings, unemployment and payroll information.

*South Coast Business Corporation (SCBEC): A private, non-profit corporation serving employers of Coos County with assistance in finding qualified employees, workforce training and other resources including the JOBS PLUS program and Work Experience program, where they help pay a new employee's wages!

*Newmark Center for Employers: Many programs designed to assist employers in training and recruitment of employees.
